Choosing a wedding cover band capable of appealing to guests of all ages and musical tastes can be challenging, but since 2010 Sydney-based Vibe Wedding Band has been doing just that by offering a versatile mix of musical talent, and customisable wedding entertainment packages.
“Whether you’re on the hunt for some upbeat party songs or relaxed acoustic arrangements, our three to eight-piece group has you covered,” says Robert. “Vibe Wedding Band play all genres, including pop, RnB, soul, and modern rock, and feature both male and female vocals.”
We took some time with Robert to chat MC duties and deejaying, and to discover how he and Vibe Wedding Band can cater to every moment from the ceremony music right through to the last dance at the wedding reception.
Tell us about your business and wedding entertainment services.
Vibe Wedding Band are a group of Sydney-based musical entertainers specialising in wedding entertainment for ceremonies and receptions. We offer packages ranging from acoustic duos and trios for ceremonies through to eight-piece bands, DJs and MCs for wedding receptions, and play all musical genres, including pop, RnB, soul and modern rock, and feature both male and female vocals.
Where are you based and what locations do you service?
We’re based in Sydney, however we entertain all over New South Wales.
How long have you been playing at weddings?
Wedding music and entertainment have been Vibe Wedding Band’s speciality since their establishment in 2010, so we know how to get guests singing and dancing, while also playing sentimental songs that are special to each couple.
What types of wedding entertainment do you offer?
We offer a range of wedding musical entertainment and services to suit all occasions and budgets. For ceremonies, our acoustic duos and trios combine the likes of vocals, guitar and light drums and our reception packages include a three- to six-piece live band — guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, saxophone and vocals — together with a DJ to keep guests on the dancefloor all night long, and optional MC services.
What types of music do you play?
We perform all types of music — old and new pop through to funk, soul, RnB and modern rock — and we tailor our songlists to suit each wedding style, so whether it’s the Jacksons, Bruno Mars, Whitney Houston or Beyoncé we’ll play the songs that get guests up and dancing and are happy to take song requests.
How long do you play for?
The number of live musical sets, and their duration, depends on the type of wedding entertainment package a couple selects, but generally our live band and DJ keep guests dancing throughout the night and we stick around for the whole wedding reception.
Is there anything couples should consider with regard to their wedding venue and setup?
Not really, for the most part they can leave the details to us and we strive to make life easier by ensuring that setup and pack-up are taken care of swiftly. We also bring our own PA speaker systems, microphones and LED lighting.
Do you play at events other than weddings?
Yes, our artists include some of the best-trained musicians from the Australian Institute of Music, we’ve worked alongside some of the greatest talents — including Guy Sebastian and Ricky Martin — and have played at events like the NRL finals and on The Voice television show, so we’ve got plenty of experience and know how to create the perfect atmosphere for wedding celebrations.
