Meet Josephine, Owner and Designer
Josephine Romeo Bastone is the Bespoke Couture Designer and Director of Romeo Bastone Couture. Well-renowned for her passion, perfection and excellence in service, Josephine comes with years of experience and an artistic eye for detail. She discovered her passion for creating gowns from an early age with her mother teaching Couture Techniques in Italy, and underwent both traditional and formal training. Having been the industry for over 25 years, her signature style is classical, elegant and timeless.

Since establishing Romeo Bastone Couture in 1991, her business has won numerous ABIA Awards including the prestigious National Designer of Dreams ABIA Award as well as the Victorian ABIA Award. She has also been inducted into the ABIA Hall of Fame as an Ambassador for continued excellence in Bridal Couture.

Whether you are a traditional, modern, romantic or simplistic bride, Josephine can capture your individual essence and create a one-off gown that reflects your identity and fits you like a glove.
She and her talented in-house team will work tirelessly throughout the design and creation process, meticulously adding embellishments and beads by hand, and using only the finest French laces and luxurious fabrics with exquisite texture, sourced from all over the world.
As your Couturier, Josephine works with you one-on-one on every aspect of your gown design, from the first consultation to the fittings to the final product. Her kind and honest nature will have you feeling completely relaxed and cared for, and you will come away with a bespoke creation that you and your guests will fall in love with.
In addition to their custom designs, Romeo Bastone Couture also offer beautiful off-the-rack wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, coordinating bridal accessories and jewellery, giving you the complete bridal experience.

I can’t thank Josephine enough for taking my dress and making it spectacular! Her talent and experience just shine through. After drama’s with invitations and other dress makers all I can say is don’t waste your time elsewhere, her service and dresses are the best in Victoria.
