Metropolis Events is a premium wedding and event space with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views over the Yarra River and the Melbourne city skyline. The venue delivers a seamless blend of sophistication and flexibility, catering exclusively to weddings and private events.
Couples are supported by specialist wedding planners who work closely with them to plan every detail and our team’s extensive experience ensures a smooth journey from the initial enquiry to the final farewell, making the wedding planning process not only stress-free, but truly enjoyable.
How did you get into weddings and how long have you been hosting them?
Metropolis Events has been part of Melbourne’s premium events scene for many years and has firmly established itself as a go-to destination for couples looking for luxury and professionalism. Since opening its doors, the venue has hosted hundreds of weddings, each tailored to suit the unique vision and needs of the couple. Our continued popularity is a testament to our team’s ability to consistently deliver memorable, elevated wedding experiences.
What styles and sizes of weddings can you accommodate?
Metropolis Events can accommodate a wide range of wedding styles, from lavish city celebrations to intimate, romantic gatherings. The venue suits everything from elegant black-tie affairs to contemporary cocktail-style receptions.
With a maximum capacity of 334 guests seated or 600 cocktail-style, the space offers generous flexibility for events ranging from grand sit-down dinners to sophisticated soirées combining cocktails, canapés and dancing. Our team can configure the space to suit a couple’s needs and desired guest experience.
What wedding packages do you offer?
Metropolis Events offers thoughtfully-curated wedding packages designed to cater to different needs, budgets and wedding styles, including proposal and engagement party packages. Packages include use of the venue — with its chic furnishings and state-of-the-art AV facilities — custom-designed seasonal menus and the assistance of our experienced wedding planners.

What spaces do you have available for wedding ceremonies and receptions?
One of Metropolis Events’ biggest drawcards is its versatility, offering both ceremony and reception options all within the same venue.
The main Panorama Room features a New York loft–style interior with dramatic nine-metre-high floor-to-ceiling windows, a 17-metre internal dome, designer lighting, a bridal suite, green room, an optional dividing wall and large all-weather terrace — ideal for sunset photos or champagne toasts under the stars.
The more intimate Aviary Room combines similar sophistication with a green-wall and vaulted glass ceiling.
How far in advance should couples book?
Due to its popularity, particularly during Melbourne’s peak wedding season, we encourage couples to book as early as possible — ideally 12 to 18 months in advance — to help secure a preferred date and allow plenty of time to plan the finer details with the in-house team.

What advice do you have for couples looking for a wedding venue?
It’s easy to get swept up in aesthetics, but the Metropolis Events team advises couples to focus on the experience a venue can offer, and to consider things like location, accessibility, natural light for photos, on-site support and the convenience of having both ceremony and reception in one place.
Can couples add their own flair, and do you have suppliers you can recommend?
Absolutely. While Metropolis Events is stunning as-is, couples are encouraged to personalise the space with styling elements, floral installations or live music. Our team can provide recommendations from a trusted network of suppliers who are familiar with the venue and its layout, to help ensure each couple’s vision comes to life flawlessly.
What photographic opportunities and accommodation options are available onsite or in the area?
With sweeping city views, natural light and bold architectural elements, the venue itself is a photographer’s dream. The Yarra River, Federation Square and the surrounding Southbank precinct provide additional photo locations, all within walking distance.
As for accommodation, the venue is surrounded by premium hotels including The Langham, Crown Towers, and Quay West Suites, making it convenient for both local and interstate guests.
