ABIA meets Jordan Racine, whose caravan bar and mobile beverage service caters to weddings across Victoria
Shakers On Wheels started as a small idea, to bring the cocktail experience to people’s homes during Covid, but as restrictions lifted the popularity of the Melbourne mobile bar spread and before long owner Jordan Racine and his team found themselves catering to weddings.
“We deliver our premium cocktails, flexible service, mind-blowing cocktail buffets and unique bomboniere at around 170 events and 30 weddings annually,” Jordan explains of his mobile bar service today.
He credits the caravan bar’s success to a combination of creative service, quality cocktails and flexible catering packages.
ABIA stepped behind the bar with Jordan to chat classic drinks, money-saving wedding packages and cocktail guest favours.
Tell us about your mobile bar and wedding services?
Shakers On Wheels started during the Covid lockdown period, when our mobile bar service was able to deliver a little fun within the chaos of restrictions. Today, it’s evolved from small backyard parties to elite events across Victoria, and we deliver our premium cocktails, flexible service, mind-blowing cocktail buffets and unique bomboniere at around 170 events and 30 weddings annually.
How did you get started in the wedding industry?
It was a natural progression after a couple of years. We started getting enquiries about weddings and thought it would be great to step into this amazing world. And it has been — it's very demanding and challenging, as everything needs to be perfect and exceed expectations, but the end result is so rewarding. We are very lucky to do what we do, and to work with some of the best wedding planners and venues in the country.

Where are you based and what locations do you service?
We’re based in Caulfield South and offer our mobile bar services throughout Victoria.
What types of beverage catering do you offer for weddings?
We offer the usual beverage menu of beer, wine and soft drinks, but also specialise in premium cocktails, created with flair using craft ice, liquid nitrogen, fire tricks, premium spirits and liqueurs, homemade ingredients and the like.

What drink packages do you offer for weddings?
We offer three main beverage packages. Our ‘Open Bar’ package is unlimited, charged per head and includes our full range of drinks, our ‘Bar Tab’ package is charged per drink and we also offer a ‘Dry Bar’ BYO package.
Can couples add their own flair with their own drinks menu and ideas?
Yes absolutely, we’re happy to add a couple’s drink suggestions, though we'll always try them first to make sure they’re up to our standards. If not, we'll tweak them to make them even better. They can also share their stories, wedding theme, colour palette and favourite holiday drinks with us, as inspiration, and we'll get creative from there.

What are your most popular wedding drink packages?
For small and medium weddings our ‘Open Bar’ package is a favourite as it’s hassle-free. For Large weddings though, our ‘Dry Bar’ package is popular, as couples can save thousands of dollars by supplying their own alcohol stock.
What drinks are trending at weddings at the moment?
Our drink menus are often inspired by our couple’s ethnicity, culture and individual tastes, so our service tends to be focused more on personalisation than trends. That said though, we often serve classic cocktails, like margaritas, espresso martinis and spritzes in the summer months.

What do you supply?
We supply absolutely everything, from the mobile bar to glassware and staff to beverages. We can also arrange the likes of a cool room, cocktail service trolley, ice luge and cocktail fountain if required.
How many guests can you cater for and, typically, how many staff are provided on the day?
We've catered for up to 1500 guests. For weddings of up to 500, we generally allocate one staff member per 30 guests, but every wedding is different so we tend to tailor our service to the needs of our couples.
What makes your mobile wedding beverage service stand out?
We do not just serve drinks, we aim to make every wedding a sensorial experience. From the first interaction to the last sip, everything is carefully organised to ensure seamless, high-quality service. We also give back to the community with our Eventful Impact program, through which we donate a percentage of our proceeds to a charity of our couple’s choosing.
