The Bribie Island Dream Wedding Venue

Sandstone Point Hotel can match your wedding style dreams!

Kristie and Ben celebrated their wedding on the 1st June, 2017 with the small, but oh so sweet reception at Sandstone Point Hotel. The Bride and Groom opted for a very relaxed, informal wedding day where their guests were encouraged to socialise and have fun.

Our wedding ceremony was held at The Chapel located at Sandstone Point Hotel - A beautiful wooden structure Chapel overlooking the lake. Our ceremony was wonderful lots of laughter and minor tears. Sandstone Point Hotel offers endless photo locations, which made for some extraordinary photographs. The reception was held in The Cellar. The warm lighting made for a very romantic setting, we went for a cocktail wedding so everyone could mingle and party freely.Tables was dressed with lanterns, tea light candles, green vinery and burgundy flowers. Dry bars included bud vases with burgundy flowers and tea light candles.

Favourite Wedding Moment?

Without a doubt it would have to be walking down the aisle. My twin sister Nikki was escorting me and I remember how incredibly nervous I was, I thought I was going to burst into tears any second. The moment I saw Ben and his smiling face it was like an instant shot of calm. I think Ill remember that feeling for the rest of my life. Pure happiness and love.

Funniest Wedding Moment?

The moment when our celebrant told me to place the ring on Bens finger I was so nervous I couldnt actually get the ring on. What followed was myself lifting his hand in the air and poking my tongue out while I dramatically tried to force the ring onto his finger. Once I was satisfied the ring was on ben turned to our guests and slid it on and off to show it actually wasnt that tight. Lots of laughter followed. Perfect to break the nervous energy.

What is your advice to engaged couples when planning their Dream Wedding Day:

The very first thing we did was sit down and agree on a budget. We got to really talk about the things that were important to us and decide as a team. But mostly try to relax and not get stressed out over the small things. We really focused on staying calm and chilled out. We had the same thought throughout which was everything would either work out or not but there was no point stressing. By doing this when the day came we brought that same relaxed energy with us so we really got to enjoy our day together and cherish every moment.
