The resounding feedback from guests and suppliers gathered in the days following the 2019 Langhorne Creek Wedding Trail deemed the inaugural event a success.

On Sunday 19 May, engaged couples, families, parents and bridal parties from around South Australia visited Langhorne Creek to experience a unique day of wedding inspiration across 5 fully styled wedding venues, showcasing over 80 suppliers in every area of wedding planning.

Feedback from guest surveys echoed the sentiments that it was an “amazing day” where complimentary tickets entitled the almost 200 guests to entertainment, demonstrations, food and wine tastings, and a truly immersive experience of each venue and the exclusive Langhorne Creek region.

Despite a shower or two on the day, the autumnal beauty of Langhorne Creek sparkled with lush lawns and turning leaves, also giving the event’s hand-picked suppliers the chance to show their dedication to the perfect wedding day, rain or shine.

Venue 4: The Winehouse

...from the historic stone function room, the expansive lawns bordered by vines, to the secluded Moroccan-style outdoor dining area.

Venue 5: Woodburn Homestead

...the fire was roaring, the music was playing and the tours continued taking in everything from the restored stone cellar to the Belvidere Attic of the 1864 accommodation. Warmth was also radiating from the homegrown talent of indie musician Ollie English, entertaining the crowd with his newest hit ‘Holy Water’, a silky cover of Sam Sparro’s ‘Black and Gold’ and drawing the prizes from the pool worth more than $4,000, generously donated by suppliers.

The Langhorne Creek Wedding Trail is an initiative of Wedding Tourism, owned and operated by multi-award-winning Fleurieu-based caterer and planner Cindy Westphalen who is passionate about harnessing and leveraging the tourism investment associated with weddings. Close to 70% of guests interested in and visiting on the day of the 2019 Langhorne Creek Wedding Trail travelled from Adelaide. Inviting visitors to this diverse part of the Fleurieu, less than an hour away, creates memories which will draw these guests back to the region for wine tasting, a daytrip or a ‘staycation’.

“Any time businesses and the local community come together to showcase their offerings, the benefits radiate throughout the region” explains Cindy, who already has plans in the works for a 2020 Wedding Trail event.
