Kirsty & Sam are one of ABIA's lucky couples who had won a $35,000 Wedding Collection via the ABIA BAG (Bride And Groom) Competition. It was a true joy for the ABIA team and its Wedding Vendors to follow the journey of this incredible couple.
They said 'I Do' at the magical multi-award winning Maleny Manor.
The couple said 'I Do' at the Multi-ABIA Award Winning Maleny Manor surrounded by 100 of their closest friends and family, Kirsty went on to say "there was more love than we could ever have hoped for, with so much joy in our souls."
The famous hanging chandelier cake.
Every wedding needs a feature piece and for Kirsty & Sam's Dream Wedding it was the Hanging Chandelier Cake designed by ABIA-Award Winning A Little Cake Place. As the central focus of the room, the Chandelier Cake hovered over a champagne tower feauturing glasses engraved with the words 'To Love and Happiness'.
The wedding theme.
The theme of the wedding was classic and elegant. The ceremony pavilion had an ethereal and heavenly glow with rows of white draping converging a crystal chandelier, complemented by white and ivory roses. As the guests walked in to the iconic Maleny Manor house for the reception, they were presented to their classically adorned tables, featuring blush sequin cloths, blooms, brass vases and candles.
It rained on their wedding day!
Kirsty told ABIA "The universe delivered us the most diverse atmosphere we could ever have imagined; rain, mist, cloud and fog. The way we embraced this will forever make us smile. Despite being sprinkled with approval from the heavens, Sam and I still ventured offsite together for photographs with Doux Wedding Corp. I put my veil over the two of us and we found a gorgeous laneway sheltered by two rows of tall, converging trees." The key on their rainy day, was to make the most of every space in their venue, moving the Bridal Party photos to the upstairs loft which provided natural and romantic lighting. As the night finally drew to a close, the fireworks lit up the thick cloud surrounding the property and all the guests including the Bride & Groom ran out into the mist and danced in it.
The Bride's favourite moment.
One of Kirsty's favourite little 'differences' was not just having the bride walk down the aisle with her dad, but having her two adorable little flower girls walk down the aisle with their dads as well. "One day they will have a photo of themselves with their dads walking them down the aisle as flower girls and also as grown-up brides and Sam and I hope this is something that is really special to them." A cherished and humorous moment for Kirsty was when Sam leaned in to kiss her the moment he saw me after walking down the aisle, and Kirsty had to insist they must wait for the 'kiss the bride' part.
The Bride's Advice.
ABIA asked if there was anything they would change and Kirsty responded "I don't think there's anything that I would change, but that's not because everything went perfectly, it's because I believe in embracing the experience the way the universe presents it to you." Kirsty's advice to other brides and grooms is "You only get this day once, there will always be elements of it that you cannot control; welcome that, enjoy it and the very personal and unique journey it takes you on. Every moment in that day is precious, don't spend a second of it worrying."
