As a child, I spent many hours watching both of my grandmothers cook and bake sweet treats in their own kitchens, and sometimes my brave father would let me cook in the kitchen with him. My mum often baked us cookies, slices and even the cakes from the famous Women's Weekly birthday cookbook.
I worked in various bakeries both at the counter and baking for quite a few years in my teens and then in my early 20's I landed a job baking for a large franchise business. Following this, I worked in a wholesale pastry kitchen where we serviced many local cafes and restaurants. I started Amanda Bakes as I enjoy the creative element of designing and baking cakes, and the memories that are created from these. I've completed a Food Safety Supervisor certificate and various specialty baking courses. I look forward being part of your special day.
