ABIA Wedding Australia – Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: August 2025
By using ABIA's platform, including the ABIA website (www.abia.com.au) and the vendor and couple portals (the "Site"), you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please discontinue use immediately.
1. Our Role
ABIA is a trusted platform that connects engaged couples with a wide range of reputable wedding vendors. It provides a space for vendors to showcase their services, packages, and reviews, and for couples to find and compare the best professionals for their special day.
ABIA also facilitates genuine reviews, awards, and vendor accreditation based on verified client feedback, helping vendors build visibility and credibility in the wedding industry.
While ABIA acts as a connector between couples and vendors, it is not a vendor, agent, or service provider. All transactions, including contracts and payments, occur directly between couples and vendors — ABIA is not a party to these agreements.
2. Your Commitments
We want everyone to have a great experience! Here’s what we ask of all users:
For All Users
Keep your information accurate and up to date so we can better support you.
Follow ABIA’s policies (such as the Privacy Policy and Review Policy) and respect our community.
Don’t impersonate others or create fake accounts — authenticity matters!
For Couples
Only rate vendors you have personally hired for your wedding or event.
Reviews must be honest and reflect your true experience. Incentives or external influence should not affect your feedback. If ABIA identifies that a review was incentivised or manipulated, it will be deactivated.
For Vendors
Only register weddings that are confirmed bookings, with a deposit of at least $1 received.
Do not manipulate or pressure couples into providing positive feedback. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Any unethical conduct, including incentivising reviews, may result in review deactivation and affect your ABIA Partnership status or award participation.
ABIA recommends that vendors seek the couple's permission before registering their contact details for feedback collection. This helps ensure transparency and avoids any confusion regarding how their contact information is used.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring they hold all licences, permits, and accreditations required to operate within their category and state or territory. ABIA may request evidence of compliance at its discretion where concerns are raised, but does not routinely verify or guarantee vendor industry certification or accreditation.
3. Account Management
Termination: ABIA may suspend or terminate accounts for breaches, including fraud or policy violations.
Data Retention: Even if your account is closed, ABIA may retain reviews, ratings, and business profiles for integrity and record-keeping purposes.
Bankruptcy or Insolvency: If a vendor ceases operations, their awards and reviews are not transferable.
4. Reviews and Ratings
For Couples
You may rate each vendor only once per service category.
Reviews must be based on genuine, firsthand experiences. Avoid external influence or incentives.
ABIA may remove reviews it believes are fraudulent, defamatory, abusive, or incentivised. We aim to maintain a trusted and fair platform.
For Vendors
Do not pressure couples into writing reviews.
Fake reviews are a serious violation and can result in account suspension or termination.
If you believe a review is unfair, you may submit a dispute with evidence. ABIA will review and respond within 72 business hours.
Review Ownership and Platform Rights
Reviews submitted by clients to the ABIA platform are voluntarily provided for the purpose of ABIA's platform operations and public directory. These reviews are verified, stored, and moderated within ABIA's proprietary review database. While the content reflects a vendor's products/services, reviews are submitted to ABIA and governed by its Terms of Use. ABIA retains full rights over how reviews are presented, promoted, and made visible across its platform. Vendors may access and use their reviews during an active partnership. Upon cancellation or non-renewal, public visibility and promotional features (including widgets) may be removed. A one-time export of review data may be requested for archival purposes.
For more details, please see our Review Policy.
5. Payments & Fees
ABIA offers subscription options for vendors, including:
Monthly Plans: 12-month minimum term.
Annual Plans: One-off payment.
Full details can be found in our Partnership Program Terms and Conditions.
Refunds
ABIA does not offer refunds for:
Change of mind after the cooling-off period.
Failure to achieve accreditation (e.g., an average rating below 95%).
Account suspension due to policy breaches.
6. Vendors' Offers, Promotions and Deals
Vendors may independently create and promote offers, packages, or discounts on the ABIA platform. ABIA does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, availability, or terms of these offers.
All such promotions are managed solely by the vendor, and any disputes, misunderstandings, or losses arising from these offers are the responsibility of the vendor and/or the participating couple.
By using the platform, users acknowledge that ABIA is not a party to any promotional agreements or transactions between couples and vendors and shall not be held liable for any issues, including but not limited to:
Misleading or expired offers
Payment disputes
Unfulfilled services
Changes or cancellations in promotions
We encourage users to conduct due diligence and obtain written confirmation directly from vendors regarding the details of any offers before entering into agreements.
7. Intellectual Property
ABIA owns all content, logos, and trademarks related to the ABIA brand and platform.
Vendors may only use ABIA Accreditation and Award logos if they have legitimately earned the status and maintain an active subscription.
Unauthorised use of ABIA’s intellectual property may result in legal action.
Vendors retain ownership of any content uploaded to the platform, but ABIA may use this content for promotional or marketing purposes.
8. Liability & Disputes
ABIA is not responsible for:
The quality of vendor services or disputes between couples and vendors.
Platform downtime or data breaches, though we implement robust security measures.
The content of third-party websites or external links.
Indemnity
If your actions cause legal claims against ABIA, you agree to cover the associated costs.
Dispute Resolution
If you experience a non-legal dispute, please contact us first at info@abia.com.au. We're here to help and always aim to resolve matters promptly and fairly.
9. Privacy
ABIA values your privacy. We collect data to operate the platform and enhance your experience. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.
Vendors must delete any couple data upon request or closure of the couple’s account.
10. Prohibited Activities
To maintain a safe, respectful, and fair environment, users must refrain from:
Scraping data or using automated tools to access the platform.
Spamming other users via ABIA's messaging systems.
Attempting to manipulate or bypass the review system (e.g., by creating fake accounts).
11. Changes & Jurisdiction
ABIA may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most recent version will always be available on our platform. Continued use of ABIA after updates signifies acceptance of the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any legal disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Queensland.
