Among the latest additions to the Sydney Harbour skyline, the iconic Crown Sydney is fast establishing itself as one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the city.
“Since opening in December 2020, we have hosted more than 100 weddings,” Jodie Rigma points out.
Looking around, this instant popularity is easy to understand, with the luxury hotel and resort venue combining both exceptional catering and service with an assortment of wedding ceremony and reception spaces that offer something for everyone, from intimate gatherings, to over-the-top large-scale celebrations.
We took a tour with Jodie to discover the outstanding location, views, event spaces, food and service that this sophisticated city venue has to offer couples and their guests.

What spaces do you have available for wedding ceremonies and receptions?
We have an assortment of wedding ceremony and reception spaces. The Opal Suite offers intimate dining, the Pavilion provides an outdoor ceremony and cocktail reception space overlooking the harbour, Sky Deck takes in the spectacular views from the 83rd floor, and our magnificent Pearl Ballroom and adjacent foyer, can comfortably accommodate up to 340 seated guests.
What wedding packages do you offer?
We have a variety of package options available for weddings held in the Pearl Ballroom, Pavilion and Opal Suite, but can also create bespoke packages to suite each couple’s specific budget and requirements. From catering in Nobu restaurant, through to a deluxe Villa experience, we can offer a world of opportunity.
How can couples add their own flair?
Every single wedding is different, and the beauty of Crown Sydney is that all our spaces have a very neutral palette. This means couples can add their own colour theme and decorations to truly reflect their own style and create their dream wedding atmosphere.
We have welcomed hundreds of suppliers, from florists to bands, so have many suppliers we know work well.

How far in advance should couples book?
Couples should look at booking 12 to 18 months in advance.
What advice do you have for couples looking for a wedding venue?
To make their dream wedding come true, it’s important that couples establish what is most important to them. Whether it is the food or wine list experience, or the styling elements, knowing their priorities will allow them to narrow down their options when searching for a venue, and can also help determine where their budget is allocated.
What photographic locations do you have onsite, or in the area?
Our iconic Crown Sydney spiral staircase, our Pavilion area overlooking Darling Harbour, the foyer area of the Pearl Ballroom, and different restaurant locations onsite all make for incredible photographic backdrops. Plus, we’re located right on Sydney Harbour.

Which of your accommodation options are most popular with wedding couples and their guests?
Crown Towers Sydney boasts an opulent integrated resort with a range of accommodation offerings. Our beautiful Executive Harbour Bridge Suite is our most popular option for newly-wed couples — they can take the lift straight to their room, post reception, and enjoy panoramic views of Sydney Harbour.
What was your favourite wedding? Can you paint us a picture?
Imagine a perfectly-landscaped garden meeting a night sky filled with stars. Our Pearl Ballroom was completely transformed with black-draped walls and custom-fabricated tables, with LED trimming throughout the room. A fairylight installation, above the black gloss dancefloor, transported guests to another galaxy, and tables were decorated with mixed designs of fresh flowers, hundreds of candles and sculpted moss installations cascading onto the ground. Of course, there was also a seven-tier wedding cake that lit up too!

What makes your venue and service stand out?
Definitely our Crown Sydney team. We are genuinely passionate about what we do — from sales to planning and operations — and come together at Sydney’s finest wedding destination.
We endeavour to create a seamless experience, and help ease any stress, and seeing our couples overwhelmingly happy on their wedding day is the most rewarding feeling — especially after working alongside them for months.
We often develop close relationship with our couples, and most return to celebrate other special life events, so we feel that says a lot about the Crown Sydney experience.
