Brisbane Wedding Photography & Videography
Having your wedding day captured in the form of photos and videos is really important to many couples - not only will it document your celebration as a couple, but it will be a beautiful reminder and keepsake that you can show to friends and family until the end of time.
Choosing the right Brisbane wedding photographer or videographer can be a difficult task, and you may find that many vendors offer both services! So, if you've been searching high and low for your dream wedding photographer or videographer in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and surrounds, this vendor may be the one for you.
Introducing Daniel Vistar Films, a Brisbane-based photography and videography vendor. You can read our Q&A with them below, and don't forget to take a look at some of Daniel's amazing videos too.
Tell us about your business.
Daniel Vistar Films has been operating for over 8 years in the wedding industry and the parent business, Vistar Productions, has been going for over 25 years. It started out as a music recording studio then expanded to include videography and photography along the way.
We create cinematic style wedding videos and heartfelt photos by capturing all the special and candid moments from a wedding day. Not just a documented video but a love story using vows and speeches from the ceremony and reception to convey a story of who the bride and groom are and how amazing the day was. Our films act as a memorial for all those who attended and, unfortunately in recent times, a chance for those who couldn't attend to get a chance to view the wedding day with an emotional film and beautiful images that last a lifetime.
What locations do you service?
Primarily Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Hervey Bay. But I do travel to all parts of Australia and abroad if required.
What do you love about weddings?
To me a wedding isn't a job, it's a honour to be a part of the bride and grooms special day. To capture footage, take photos and get to know the couple, and then to spend time in the editing process to get to know them even more by creating a love story of their most special day. Then, of course, their reaction when they view the videos or photos for the first time.
What's your role at weddings and what makes you different?
I like to make everything as stress free as possible, to have plans and ideas in place but to react quickly and effectively should something not work on the day. The best imagery comes from candid moments when couples are relaxed and enjoying themselves. Weddings are a special day and the day goes by so quickly, it's important to me that couple's get to experience their wedding day in the best way possible.
What's your advice to couples planning a wedding?
Once you have a wedding date confirmed, book your key vendors as early as possible. That's wedding venue, celebrant, photographer/videographer and any other wish list vendors you may have. Maybe have a few options should some of your first picks not be available.
What was your favourite wedding?
One of the last weddings I did before Covid hit in 2020 was at The Tivoli, normally a music venue. It was like going to a gig, they got married on stage, then the place got transformed into a sit down performance - although not many people were seated once the band started. There were so many people there and everyone was genuinely having a great time. Visually that one always stands out.
How long is your wedding day coverage?
Typically to get the best coverage from a wedding we like to start at least a couple of hours before the ceremony through to the end of reception formalities. That's around 8 hours, but if there's a bit of travel involved throughout the day then the longer 10-12 hour options would suit better.
